Book Review: Baron's The Shema in John's Gospel
"...a welcome conversation partner in each of the several disciplines to which it contributes, including intertextuality, the Gospel of John, and John within Judaism."
My review of Lori Baron’s book, The Shema in John’s Gospel, is fresh off the press!
This is my first book review for the Review of Biblical Literature (RBL), and it was an honor to engage with Baron’s work:
Baron’s assessment of the Shema in the Hebrew scriptures, Second Temple literature, the New Testament, and the Fourth Gospel has much to commend it. She provides good evidence from various angles, and in such a short space she sets out to accomplish a considerable feat.
